Former college football head coach Tommy Tuberville had strong opinions after a bill he helped sponsor was blocked. The former head coach of Auburn, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and fellow Alabama senator Katie Britt introduced the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.”
The bill would have banned schools from receiving federal funds if they allowed women’s sports to be played transgendered student-athletes.
Tommy Tuberville has been giving Democrats fits

Tuberville played defense earlier in the week, defending the pain President Donald Trump’s tariffs will cause, arguing that they will help the United States in the future.
“No pain, no gain — that’s what we used to tell our football players,” Tuberville said.“There’s going to be some pain with tariffs, but tariffs got us back as the strongest economy in the world when President Trump was in (office) the first time. He knows what he’s doing.”
Tuberville then blamed the Democrats and Joe Biden for putting the economy in dire straits before Trump took over.
Tuberville calls Democrats “hypocrites”

On Thursday, Tuberville went on the offensive, suggesting Democrats were “hypocrites” on women’s rights after all 45 Democrat senators voted against his bill on women’s sports, blocking the legislation from receiving the 60 votes needed to advance the bill, per Howard Koplowitz of AL.com.
“It’s backwards, it’s disgusting, it’s downright wrong,” Tuberville said. “You’d have to be dumber than a box of rocks to celebrate this, but that’s what they did. They celebrated the handful of transgenders participating in women…
“Democrats, basically, are hypocrites – big time. They claim to be pro-women but allow men to dress up as women and take rights away from actual women.”
