Houston Texans Current Injuries going into Week 9

Going into Week 9, the Houston Texans team is still recovering from many different injuries among multiple players. These injuries could be a cause for concern for their upcoming game against the New York Jets on Halloween Night (October 31, 2024).

The players that will not be present during Thursday’s game are: Jarret Patterson (Offensive Line), Dameon Pierce (Running Back), Azeez Al-Shaair (Linebacker), and Jimmie Ward (Safety).

Others who have been injured but will be returning to the field are: Kamari Lassiter (Cornerback), Calen Bullock (Safety), and Henry To’oTo’o (Linebacker).

Dameon Pierce and Jimmie Ward both took injuries to the groin and have been absent for a few games on top of the game taking place on Thursday. Jarret Patterson is still recovering from a concussion, and taking it slow to ensure that he will be able to return to the field soon. Azeez Al-Shaair took a hit to the knee, and as a result of this injury this upcoming game will be the third game in a row that he has missed.

Hopefully, each of the injured players will be able to make full recoveries and return to the field for their next upcoming games.

Much like the Houston Texans, the New York Giants are also facing a plague of injuries this week and may possibly have to be down a few players in this Thursday night’s game.

While the list of those that are injured is long, the list of those that will be returning to the field for Thursday’s game is long as well, meaning that a lot of those that were injured before should be healthy enough to face off against the Texans. Hopefully, this will be enough to make up for all of the absences they are facing.

The players who will not be present during this game are: Tony Adams (Safety), Ashtyn Davis (Safety), Leki Fotu (Defensive Tackle), Allen Lazard (Wide Receiver), CJ Mosley (Linebacker), and Alijah Vera-Tucker (Offensive Line). Surprisingly, each of these players have faced different types of injuries. Adams has faced an injury to his hamstring, Davis is currently suffering from a concussion, Fotu is having trouble with his knee, Allen took a hit to the chest, Mosley is experiencing neck issues, and Vera-Tucker is treating his injured ankle.

There are a few players that are undecided whether they will be on the field for this game or not. Among those are: Chazz Surratt (Linebacker) who faced an injury to the heel, Morgan Moses (Offensive Line) who is recovering from a knee injury, and Kenny Yeboah (Tight End) who is healing an abdomen injury.

The list of those returning for Thursday’s game is about the same length as those who will be sitting out. Among the ones returning are: Jamien Sherwood, Michael Carter ll (Cornerback), Jake Hanson (Offensive Line), Aaron Rodgers (Quarterback), Haason Reddick (Defensive Line), Quinnen Williams (Defensive Line), and Will McDonald lV (Defensive Line). Sherwood and McDonald were out due to similar injuries with their shoulders, while the rest of the players were out due to injuries to the back, thumb, knee, neck, or ankle.

Hopefully, each of these players will have a full, healthy recovery and return to the field among their teammates really soon.
