The 9-7 Houston Texans will travel to Tennessee to play against the 3-13 Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium for their regular-season finale. Houston, who currently has locked in the fourth seed in the AFC, will attempt to snap their two-game skid against Tennessee and hope to carry some momentum into the playoffs. After being 6-2 midway through the season, the Texans have lost five of their last eight games, which is why the team doesn’t plan on resting their starters against the Titans.

“I mentioned to all our guys that everybody has to be ready to go,” Ryans said. “Everybody will be out there playing and then we’ll see how the game goes.”

Houston Texans’ veteran interior offensive lineman suffered an injury early in Week 16

Texans’ veteran right guard Shaq Mason suffered an apparent knee injury during the opening drive of Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He limped off the field and went directly into the medical tent; he did not return for the remainder of the game. Tests determined that Mason suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain, which carries a 3-4 week recovery time.

Texans will not have their veteran interior lineman for the second straight game

Shaq Mason did not participate during the week of practice as he continues to rehab from his MCL sprain. The Houston Texans released the week’s injury report a little while ago and ruled out a handful of players. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, the Texans have ruled Mason out for Week 18 against the Tennessee Titans. After starting the first 15 games of the 2024 season, he will miss his second consecutive matchup.
