The Houston Texans have looked like one of the top teams in the National Football League and the offseason trade for wide receiver Stefon Diggs has certainly helped. However, during Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, Diggs suffered a non-contact knee injury and left the game.
The injury occurred late in the third quarter of the game while Stefon Diggs was running a route. He would slow down and eventually head to the turf while grabbing at his right knee.

While the ability for Stefon Diggs to walk off on his own power is a good sign, that does not mean he is officially out of the woods yet. Stefon Diggs has been a critical player for the Houston Texans this season as entering Week 8 of the season, he had 42 receptions (sixth in NFL) for 415 yards (15th) with three receiving touchdowns.
The Houston Texans already lost wide receiver Nico Collins due to a right hamstring injury but losing Diggs would be a massive situation for the team to overcome.
Who can replace the production of Stefon Diggs if he is injured for a while?
Losing Stefon Diggs for any amount of time is going to be critical for the Houston Texans as quarterback CJ Stroud loses his top target. This also is not good for the fact that they will play on Thursday night in Week 9 against the New York Jets.
This is something that the Houston Texans can ill-afford to have happen as they will look for a returning Nico Collins, who has 567 receiving yards in five games, to replicate the production of one of the top wide receivers in the National Football League.
The offense of the Houston Texans would look a lot different if Stefon Diggs is forced to miss extended action.
