The LSU Tigers have lost a fourth game this season after dropping a must-win game against the struggling Florida Gators in Gainesville.
The Tigers are now 6-4 this season and while the SEC has been incredibly competitive this season, LSU is also nowhere near where the program expected to be. Coming into the season, the Tigers expected to run through USC and make a serious run towards the College Football Playoff. However, the 2024 season has been the exact opposite for the LSU Tigers as the playoff has slipped out of the hands of the team.
With LSU slowing slipping deeper and deeper into unwanted territory, the Tigers fans have begun to lobby for a new coach. Brian Kelly was brought into Baton Rouge to solve some of the issues that former coach Ed Orgeron seemingly had. However, the firing of Orgeron is something that is highly debated amongst LSU Tigers fans, with some fans who felt Orgeron was forced out while others feel the move was needed.
Orgeron was a local, fan favorite coach that was also a hit with the recruits as they seemingly bonded with the coach over his passion for the game. Kelly has also been a strong recruiter, but certainly not someone who has been known for being particularly “warm” towards his players. LSU fans have since wanted to hold both the school and athletic director Scott Woodward accountable for the decision to hire Kelly.
LSU Tigers Fans Ready to Snap on Coach Brian Kelly After Latest Loss
Between the difficultly that Kelly has had figuring everything out on the field for the LSU Tigers, to the recruiting dips, fans have nearly had it with the coach. Kelly is worth over $100-million currently with the contract that he was given to revive Baton Rouge, which has been subject to plenty of criticism as coaches being paid significantly less are doing better.
One such coach the fans have latched onto is Deion Sanders, who might be looking for a new job after both of his sons leave the Colorado Buffaloes. Some fans theorize that the coach will step-away from the Buffaloes and potentially take on a bigger job after his successful season, or perhaps will walk away from coaching all-together.
In his 2nd year after inheriting a 1-11 football team, his team is ranked higher then 100 million dollar coach Brian Kelly at LSU. Unreal.. https://t.co/YmWxmAcrVW

Woodward needs to be held accountable

He’s faster to adjust and make needed changes. BK will let whole seasons tank first.

Notably Sanders inherited a much worse team compared to what Kelly was given with LSU after leaving Notre Dame. The Buffaloes has previously been far removed from any sort of success and had never remotely reached the levels of hype they have this season. Sanders was also able to do all of this without receiving the same massive contract that Kelly currently holds.
