Looking to rebound after a 31-29 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week, the Green Bay Packers look for a road win today against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams are coming off a 24-18 loss to the Chicago Bears last week. They have a ton of injuries and will be without a ton of their offensive starters. Can the Packer rebound and improve to 3-2 on the season? Here is a preview of today’s game.
Will the Romeo Doubs Situation Affect the Green Bay Packers?
Reports cam out this week from Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated that Romeo Doubs missed practice Thursday and Friday and part of it has to due with his role in the offense. As a result, Doubs has been suspended for this game.
First of all, you hope everything is okay with Romeo Doubs. His well-being is more important than being on the football field. He is also a big part of this Green Bay Packers offense and a player I trust to make a play when they need it most.
I am sure it is also on the players minds as well. Not having a teammate at practice for a non-injury reason can be a little bit of a distraction. I am sure they are going to be asked about it as well.
Can Jordan Love Start Faster?
Jordan Love was pretty rusty to start the game last week. It was not a surprise as he missed the previous two games with the MCL injury. It is always important to get off to a fast start in the NFL, especially on the road.
This is a Rams defense that is struggling so far with a ton of young players. They gave up 24 points to a Chicago offense that has been one of the worst in the NFL to this point.
How does Love start faster? He needs to look for his security blankets. Those has been receiver Jayden Reed and tight end Tucker Kraft. If Love can get off to a good start, I think it will be good day for the Green Bay Packers offense.
Prediction
It’s only the second home game for the Rams this season. their other home game was against the San Francisco 49ers. It was also their only win of the season. They are a different team with they are at home compared to being on the road.
Los Angeles will also be without their top two receivers in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. They will relay on receivers Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, and Tyler Johnson,
The big player to stop will be running back Kyren Williams. His stats won’t wow you and he is averaging less then four yards a carry. However, Williams is a dual threat back and has six total touchdowns already. I expect the Rams to use him a ton tomorrow.
This is a game if the Green Bay Packers take care of the ball and play both sides of the ball they way they should, I think they will be just fine. This is a better team on both sides, but the Packers do struggle playing on the west coast.
The Packers offense put up 29 points in just over a half last week against a Minnesota Vikings defense that is one of the best in the league. This is nowhere near that. I think the points will be there early and often. Give me the Packers in this one today.
Packers 34 Rams 24
