The Green Bay Packers have a lot to look forward to in the near future. Not only have they been pegged by numerous analysts to be a dark-horse Super Bowl contender, but they have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL. Led by QB Jordan Love, the Packers could be looking at years of greatness with this new era.
However, one player from last season, who started 11 games in 2023, says he doesn’t miss it.
One Former Starter Says He Doesn’t Miss The Green Bay Packers
According to Bears reporters David Peters Jr.:
Jonathan Owens was asked “do you miss Green Bay?” by one of the fans in the crowd after practice.
Owens response?
“Absolutely not.”
It was reported that Owens, 29, signed with the Bears as a free agent in March after spending the 2023 season in Green Bay, where he played in 17 games with 11 starts. As a backup to Bears starters Kevin Byard and Jaquan Brisker, he will likely occupy a role on special teams. During his time with the Packers, he logged 54% of plays on special teams, which was well above average for a safety.
It will be interesting to see what kind of season the Bears have compared to the Packers in 2024. There is a lot of hype surrounding Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and the multiple free agent additions this off-season.
That being said, Green Bay is going into year two of one of the better young teams in the league.
