Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is still held in high regard by many fans. After all, he did help lead the Packers back into relevancy back in the early 1990s, and eventually ended Green Bay’s championship drought by leading the team to victory in Super Bowl XXXI.
The first (and so far only) player to win three consecutive NFL MVP Awards, there is no question that Favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. However, a new Netflix documentary sheds light on some aspects of the Hall of Famer’s personality that many do not find endearing at all.

Those that followed Favre’s NFL career, both before, during, and after his tenure with the Packers, will not find much new information in the Netflix documentary entitled “The Fall of Favre.” However, it does give insight into some of the less flattering stories regarding the three-time MVP’s career.
A major focus of the documentary was the scandal involving Favre and a New York Jets sideline reporter, Jenn Sterger. During his lone season in New York, Favre sent a picture of his, well, anatomy to Sterger after weeks of trying to talk to her, but the reporter ignoring his advances.
Sterger talked at length in the documentary, stating that she never responded to his many texts and emails, and that she certainly did not want the attention that he was giving her. She also said that, while she reported the harassment to the Jets, nothing was done about it. And while Favre left New York after his lone season there, the team also decided not to bring her back as well.
In addition to the Sterger message, the documentary also brings up the lawsuit filed against Favre by two Jets employees who accused him of making advances to them. Text messages from the star quarterback stating that he had “bad intentions” were included in the segment.
And, of course, the Mississippi Welfare Scandal, and Favre’s alleged involvement in it, was discussed at the end of the hour-long show. However, as Netflix notes, the former Packers quarterback has not been charged in the case.
Overall, the documentary did not paint a good picture of Favre, as its title might suggest. A former Green Bay reporter was interviewed, and even said that he refused to write a story about “Favre the Family Man” when the star’s wife, Deanna, was diagnosed with cancer because “I don’t write fiction.”
Former Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre Believes Support for President Donald Trump Inspired Documentary

After the documentary aired, many Favre supporters protested the film on social media, claiming it was a hit piece. Others, who had already been disillusioned with the former Packers star, used it to fuel their dislike for him.
For his part, Favre shared a conspiracy theory that his support for President Donald Trump is what was behind the making of the documentary:
Netflix is going after @BrettFavre for being an outspoken Trump supporter

The post above was shared by Favre on his X account.
The former Packers quarterback, of course, has been a long-time supporter, and sometimes golfing buddy, of the current President. He even appeared in Green Bay last year at a rally ahead of the election.
Of course, there is very little that can be done to prove this theory as factual.
