The Green Bay Packers completed Week 1 of training camp last weekend and will officially transition into Week 2. They will have practices on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, all of which are open to the public. The Packers will then have their annual Family Night on Saturday at 7:00 P.M. at Lambeau Field.
The team is not yet at full health, with eight players placed on the PUP or the NFI list to start camp. Highlighting one of the players currently on this list is a two-time Pro Bowler.
The Green Bay Packers’ Pro Bowl lineman is dealing with an injury

Elgton Jenkins suffered a back injury away from the practice facility during their month-long break, resulting in him being placed on the NFI list to start training camp. As a result, the two-time Pro Bowler has missed the first four practice sessions. Meanwhile, Sean Rhyan has received first-team reps at center, while Jacob Monk has taken first-team reps at right guard and with the second team at center.
The Green Bay Packers activated a key Pro Bowler for Week 2 of training camp

During Monday’s press conference, Matt LaFleur shared that the Packers will activate Elgton Jenkins, as reported by Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated. He will only participate in individual drills today, allowing him to ease into practice and avoiding the risk of aggravation. Jenkins will need all the reps he can get with him officially transitioning from left guard and center with six weeks until the start of the regular season.

Can the Green Bay Packers and him reach a resolution?

Elgton Jenkins is seeking a revised contract with more guaranteed money to ensure financial stability and long-term security. He enters the third year of his four-year contract extension with no guaranteed money left and a hefty $24.8 million cap hit in 2026, the highest by a center in NFL history, per Over The Cap. Since centers earn less than guards, Jenkins wants to ensure he isn’t cut next offseason if he struggles during the 2025 season.
Since the two-time Pro Bowler has played limited reps at center throughout his NFL career, the Packers may not revise his contract until he has demonstrated his ability to be a starting-caliber center.
