The West Virginia Mountaineers finished the college football season 6-6 this year under head coach Neal Brown. On Sunday afternoon, it was reported by CBS Sports that the Mountaineers decided to fire the head coach and move on.
This is an interesting move because he coached for six seasons with the Mountaineers. Brown had a record of 37-35 in 72 games with West Virginia. It will be interesting to see what is next for him.

Tough losing a great person and family for WVU. However, Neal Brown wasn’t producing at the level of expectation. I wish him and his family well as I imagine he will get picked up quickly.

It will be interesting to see what the West Virginia Mountaineers football program does next with the exit of Neal Brown. This could be a very interesting program for others in a winnable BIG12 Conference.
Potential Replacements
Two names that come to mind to replace Brown next season are either former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban or former Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher. Those are two names that come to mind for this program.
Another name to watch for with the Mountaineers is Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day. Day and the Buckeyes could part ways after the season and he could be the top name on the college football coaching market.
