Many Ohio State fans have called for their former head coach, Urban Meyer, to take over the head coaching job after Ryan Day failed to beat Michigan for a fourth straight season.
Something has to be done at the head coaching position, but the Buckeyes are in a hard spot. Day has made this team a national title contender every year but failed to beat their biggest rival.
While Ohio State likely won’t move off Day this offseason, Meyer spoke about the Ohio State head coaching job and its difficulty, but it’s the best one in all of sports.
Urban Meyer Speaks On The Pressure Of Coaching At Ohio State
The former 60-year-old head coach was on his Triple Option podcast and stated, “I talked to someone and said, man, that is a rugged job, but it’s arguably the best one.”
“It’s uncomfortable to hear the fired word and it’s uncomfortable to hear about pressure, but it’s also reality…”

Meyer knows what it takes to be the head coach of the Buckeyes and knows all the pressure that has to deal with it, but it is the most rewarding job in college football if it’s done right.
Day has not been able to win much as the Ohio State head coach for the last six years, only beating Michigan once, winning two Big Ten titles, and not winning a national championship. To coach the Buckeyes, you must be better in every area.
Meyer most likely won’t coach Ohio State ever again, but it will be interesting to see if he gets a call from the program if the job opens up this winter.
