Georgia football is one competitive game away from their third College Football Playoff berth in four seasons. Last Friday, with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance, the Georgia Bulldogs squeaked by their in-state rival Georgia Tech in an epic back-and-forth 44-42 eight overtime victory. On the final play of the game, running back Nick Frazier scampered three yards for the walk-off two-point conversion, moving the Bulldogs record to 10-2. Defensively, Georgia surrendered a putrid 563 yards of offense, with opposing quarterback Haynes King throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Georgia football will have a much more formidable challenge next week, facing the Texas Longhorns and star quarterback Quinn Ewers in the SEC title.
In the ensuing matchup, Georgia will be without one of their starting secondary players, with CB Julian Humphrey entering the transfer portal on Sunday. Humphrey was a ten-game starter who did not play in the team’s win against Georgia Tech last weekend. Meanwhile, Georgia football fans took aim at the corner, calling him a diva in the process.

Despite playing for one of the best programs in the country and being destined for a College Football Playoff berth, cornerback Julian Humphrey will leave Georgia football for the transfer portal. Humphrey will finish his Georgia Bulldogs career with 21 tackles and four passes defended in 23 games. He did not record an interception. A redshirt sophomore, Humphrey will likely give way to Daniel Harris for a starting corner role. Harris had three tackles in Georgia’s most recent win against Georgia Tech.
Humphrey’s departure from the transfer portal has left many Georgia Bulldogs fans angry, as evidenced by their responses on social media. Many fans bashed Humphrey for his “diva” like tendencies, while college football fans questioned the timing of his departure, especially with Georgia likely headed to the College Football Playoff:
