On Saturday, the top-ranked Georgia football program will visit the Kentucky Wildcats in an interconference matchup. Georgia is undefeated in the young season, beating the Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles by a combined score of 82-6. On the field, the Georgia Bulldogs remain one of the best programs in the country, regardless of sport.
However, off the field, the Bulldogs have had a brutal stretch of arrests and run-ins with the law. On Friday, another UGA player found himself in hot water, with corner Daniel Harris getting popped for reckless driving, among other driving misdemeanors. With Harris’ arrest becoming the 25 legal incident since 2023 (per On3), fans erupted in anger toward head coach Kirby Smart.

According to On3:
NEWS: Georgia CB Daniel Harris arrested for reckless driving, other driving misdemeanors
Since Georgia football hired head coach Kirby Smart in 2016, the team has won two national titles and won eleven games five times. However, there have been 47 incidents or arrests for reckless driving or DUI during that stretch. More than half have come following the tragic deaths of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy following the team’s title win against the TCU Horned Frogs in 2023.
It has become increasingly evident that the deaths of Willock and LeCroy, or the three driving-related arrests in July, have not stopped Georgia football players from putting their own lives, and the lives of others, at risk. College football fans were emotional following the program’s most recent driving-related apprehension, placing head coach Kirby Smart on blast following the report:
When will Georgia fans admit this is a serious problem with their program, and not defend it by deflecting the conversation?

Yet another Georgia player arrested? Yeah I’m not surprised smh

Smart only recruits dumb.
This is ridiculous now.

If something happens over and over again, is it really newsworthy? At this point, wouldn’t it be easier (and quicker) to report the number of players who haven’t been arrested or received traffic citations? 🤷🏻♂️

@KirbySmartUGA has lost control of this program. What is going on in Athens? 👀
— King Bammer (@KingBammer2023) September 13, 2024
And they had to put a photo tackling a team with much higher moral standards as well as success. Scum bags

Kirby needs to just start revoking licenses
— B (@bgsgbello) September 13, 2024
Graham this is absolutely where I blame the UGA AA, because there’s no reason any UGA player should not have his vehicle, registration, license, insurance details validated on a monthly basis. As a program with recurring issues this protocol should ALREADY be in place.

Just all around silliness (being polite here) Kirby might as well suspend him now. Get it over with.
Most of the charges are gonna get dropped once a lawyer gets involved. But he should know better.

Driving 106 mph.!!! That ridiculous! Damn this has to stop. Come on Dawgs, hunker down boys!
