The Georgia Bulldogs will have a new starting quarterback in 2025 following Carson Beck’s departure. As a QB competition is ongoing, Gunner Stockton is the favorite to replace Beck, while Ryan Puglisi is in second place. Assuming Stockton remains the starting QB for the next two years, Puglisi could end up transferring in 2026 if he doesn’t win the starting job by then.
Georgia may need a long-term quarterback solution, given Stockton has only two years of eligibility and Puglisi’s uncertain future. Because of this, the Bulldogs could find one in the 2026 recruiting class.
The Georgia Bulldogs had their sights set on a 5-star recruit

Nashville Christian’s junior star, Jared Curtis, is considered the top-ranked quarterback and the sixth-ranked prospect in the 2026 recruiting class per On3. Curtis had an incredible junior year, leading his team to a state championship and being named Tennessee’s Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football. He completed 179 out of 255 pass attempts for 2,830 yards, 40 touchdowns, and three interceptions in 13 games, along with 637 rushing yards on 88 attempts and 18 touchdowns.
Curtis originally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in March 2024 but later decommitted in October. He held a nationwide commitment ceremony at 5:30 P.M. ET on Monday.
