The Florida Gators have been trying to recruit in state talent for 2026 and beyond. One player that was on their radar was four-star recruit wide receiver Justin Williams.

Williams had offers from several schools. He currently attends Buchholz (Fl.) High. Where did the star recruit announce his commitment over the weekend?

Williams told on3.com’s Hayes Fawcett that he will be playing college football for the Gators after he is done with high school. Williams chose Florida over the Florida State Seminoles, the Kentucky Wildcats, the Indiana Hoosiers, and other football programs as well.

He is primarily a slot wide receiver. Williams told GatorsOnline last month,

“That slot role is the main place they see me fitting in. I think that’s actually another thing I really want to get out of the visit. On my other visits, they showed me where I fit in and how I’d be used. That’s what I am excited to see at Florida this weekend. I think I’m someone who can fit in at the slot there. Be a motion guy, line up in the backfield, take rushes, and be a receiver too. That’s what I see myself.”

He is 5’11” and weighs 190 lbs. Williams is ranked 272nd in the ESPN Top 300 recruiting for the class of 2026. Keegan Pope of on3.com also said about the Gators landing another four-star recruit for the Class of 2026,

“The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder is the No. 188 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 27 wide receiver and No. 24 player in Florida.

As a junior, Williams was one of the Sunshine State’s most dominant offensive threats. He finished with 1,473 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns at wide receiver, while surpassing 1,000 rushing yards and 16 scores at running back. He ended the season with 30 total touchdowns after also recording a kick-return touchdown.

He’s the second commitment of the day for Billy Napier and Co., joining Lakewood (Fla.) offensive tackle Chancellor Campbell.

The Gators are now up to four pledges this month, with Williams and Campbell joining three-star offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr and four-star safety Kaiden Hall.”

When Williams gets to Florida, it is going to be interesting to see what kind of impact he is going to make right away at the college level. He also has a great chance to put elite numbers during his senior year of high school as well.

This may not be the last big time recruit that head coach Billy Napier and the Gators will land for the class of 2026. Florida finished with a 7-5 record in 2024, and they are hoping to have major progress in 2025. Sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway could be one of the reasons why Florida takes its next step next season. Williams is the last star recruit that has Gators fans excited for the future of its football program.
