Fans are anxiously waiting for the 2024 NFL season to begin. For now, it is just training camp and the Hall of Fame game under our belt. However, FOX just released a teaser to get football fans excited about the season ahead. Read on to find out which crews will be working together to broadcast NFL games on FOX for the 2024 season.
Tom Brady Confirmed for #1 Crew
According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, it is official that Tom Brady will be on FOX’s top NFL broadcast crew this upcoming season. He will be joining play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt. On top of this, sideline reporters Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will be on that team.
This confirms what many people have speculated throughout the offseason. Tom Brady is the newcomer who gets an immediate rise with high anticipation to the top broadcast team. As a result, the former top commentator for FOX, Greg Olsen, will see a demotion because of it and possibly a pay cut.
Other Notable FOX Broadcast Pairings
So, now we know Tom Brady will be the new commentator paired with Kevin Burkhardt. What does this mean for other broadcast crews on FOX? Well, it means several broadcast crews will get switched up.
One of the most notable changes is where Greg Olsen ended up. As mentioned above, he was demoted due to the hiring of Tom Brady. As a result, Olsen is now paired up with play-by-play announcer Joe Davis on the #2 broadcast team for FOX.
Brady’s hiring created a bit of a domino effect. With Olsen now paired up with Davis, it forced another commentator to receive a demotion. This commentator is Daryl “Moose” Johnston. Last season, he was paired up with Joe Davis. Now, he is being paired up with play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler.
FOX Moving Forward
So, what can we expect from FOX moving forward? Well, the network should receive a lot of compelling football games for these broadcasters to work their magic on.
When it comes to Tom Brady, we do not have to wait long to find out what he is like behind a microphone. He will be calling the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game in Week 1. Now, we will see what each of these new pairings will sound like this upcoming season.
