Once again the former NFL star, for one reason or another, Antonio Brown is in the news again. This time it has nothing to do with football. Brown has declared that he will continue the major swing voter registration campaign for the upcoming November election. He has had his fair share of fun and controversy both on and off the football field, so it is with some controversy that he’s speaking about politics.
Brown, who has millions of followers on social media platforms is trying to get people to vote in the presidential election. He has posted before on X about Kamala Harris, a tweet that Terrell Owens took issue with. This time he has focused his efforts on the swing state of Pennsylvania where he spent most of his playing career. Pennsylvania proved to be a crucial state in winning the Presidency last election. In a post on X (precisely, Twitter), Brown said he would be at events, including one NFL event to encourage voter registration.

Antonio Brown Appeals To A New Generation
This move just establishes Brown’s involvement in politics even more. Antonio Brown has shown his admiration for the former President before, even endorsing him in interviews and on social media. He doesn’t stand alone, Trump has been supported by other NFL stars before. In this voter registration drive, Brown will attempt to appeal to his followers, most of whom are younger and may not be registered yet.
The change for Antonio Brown is that he has long been a provocative figure in both football and pop culture, but his turn to the political world is now part of his public brand. Just how much he will change things remains to be viewed but one thing is sure, Antonio Brown is back in the limelight—albeit, on a very different playing field.
Brown’s effort highlights the importance of participation in the voting process, as the November election approaches. Even more so when you live in a battleground state where every vote matters.
