The Kansas City Chiefs currently have the best record in the league at 13-1 and look like they will likely secure the first seed in the postseason. Despite several injuries to multiple offensive weapons this season, the team has still consistently squeaked out wins. The Chiefs recently released one of their running backs, who has been a difference-maker for the offense in recent years, and he has signed with a new team.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Signs With New Team
Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has signed with the New Orleans Saints as of Wednesday and will begin on the team’s practice squad. Edwards-Helaire was a superstar in college with the LSU Tigers, and he will be looking to succeed again in his hometown.

Saints’ New Running Back
The veteran running back has been with the Chiefs since 2020 and has shown glimpses of hope that he can be one of the premier backs at the pro level. He has amounted to 1,845 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in his NFL career but has dealt with injuries, preventing him from making a significant impact.
As for New Orleans, it looks like they are preparing to have him as their veteran running back for when star Alvin Kamara eventually retires. Kamara has shown that he still has some gas left in the tank, but recent injuries have prevented him from maintaining his health.
