The Penn State Nittany Lions lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Thursday night in the Orange Bowl by a final score of 27-24. Despite the loss for the Nittany Lions, defensive end Abdul Carter was playing with a shoulder injury and he was causing problems all over the field all game long.
Carter had five tackles and one sack in the game for the Nittany Lions. This season with Penn State, he recorded 68 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and four pass deflections.
Penn State Nittany Lions Abdul Carter Declares For the 2025 NFL Draft
Carter did not hesitate about whether or not he wanted to return to Happy Valley for another season. On Friday morning, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported:
“Penn State consensus All American defensive end Abdul Carter has entered the 2025 NFL Draft and hired Drew Rosenhaus, Robert Bailey and Jason Rosenhaus to represent him. “I expect Abdul will be one of the top picks of this draft and a future All Pro,” Drew Rosenhaus said.”
It is going to be interesting to see which team drafts him. There is a very good chance that Abdul Carter will be drafted in the Top 5. The Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns, the New York Giants, the New England Patriots, and the Jacksonville Jaguars will have the Top 5 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hope the Browns grab him at 2

It will be interesting to see what happens. There was a thought that the Cleveland Browns would draft Carter at number two to either pair him with Myles Garrett or replace him. Cleveland needs to draft a quarterback most likely after the latest Deshaun Watson injury news.
