For the NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers and other NFL teams are allowed to bring three players for private visits. With the 2024 NFL draft right around the corner, most of the teams’ visits are done. Here we will react to what the Steeler’s top 30 visits looked like.

    Pittsburgh Steelers Top 30 Visits

For this reaction, I will be looking over the list of top 30 visits provided by Steelers Depot. Out of their scheduled visits, the Pittsburgh Steelers brought in seven wide receivers, 14 offensive linemen, six defensive linemen, two linebackers, and seven cornerbacks.

This makes me think that the Steeler’s top target would be upgrading their offensive line, with needs at tackle and center. This also makes me think that the Steelers are not targeting safety, tight end, or running back early in the draft as they do not have any scheduled to visit with said positions. Here are some of the top names and others that were left out of the Pittsburgh Steelers scheduled visits.

    Notable Names

Out of all their scheduled visits the Pittsburgh Steelers brought in nine players that are projected to be first-round picks. The majority of these nine are offensive linemen. The tackles include Taliese Fuaga, Troy Fautanu, Amarius Mims, and Tyler Guyton. The Steelers also brought in a couple of top centers Graham Barton and Jackson Powers-Johnson.

Out of the seven wide receivers the Steelers brought in, only Adonai Mitchell is a projected first-round pick. The other two projected first-rounders are both cornerbacks who are Nate Wiggins and Cooper DeJean. Most of the other players the Pittsburgh Steelers scheduled visits with are projected second and third-rounders.

Some names that stick out to me include Braden Fiske, Nate Wiggins, and Adonai Mitchell. Fiske is an athletic defensive tackle who is a projected defensive tackle and for some reason, he just does not give me Steeler vibes. Similarly, Nate Wiggins also does not give me Steeler vibes, while he is a great coverage corner, he is not very aggressive and does not help in the run game. On the other hand, Adonai Mitchell does give me Pittsburgh Steeler vibes., the only thing is that he is a very similar player to George Pickens.

The catch would be the last touchdown for the Longhorns in the 31-37 loss to Washington.

    Who was left out

With only 36 scheduled visits, plenty of great players were left off of the Pittsburgh Steelers list. Some top players that were left off of the Steelers list include Brian Thomas Jr, JC Latham, and Jer’Zhan Newton. With it seeming like Pittsburgh is targeting wide receiver in the first round it surprises me that the Steelers did not bring in Brian Thomas Jr in for a visit. The same goes for JC Latham, after scheduling four first-round tackles for visits it seems they will be targeting tackle in the first round but opt not to bring in JC Latham as one of them.

Another one that surprises me is not bringing in Byron Murphy or Jer’Zhan Newton. After scheduling guys like Braden Fiske, it seems they are trying to target the defensive line, but they did not schedule visits with the top two defensive linemen who are projected to be available with pick 20.
