“Even I Was 2-0 Against IU” – Former Michigan Wolverines QB Bashes State of Program After Bold 20-15 Loss

The Michigan Wolverines have not had anywhere close to the season that they expected to have, and it is starting to take a toll.

Former Michigan Wolverines quarterback John O’Korn posted a message on social media questioning the program. O’Korn, a former standout quarterback for the Houston Cougars, was the primary starter for the Wolverines during the 2017 season. The quarterback recorded four touchdown passes and six interceptions while starting a handful of games for the team.

Following a narrow loss to the ranked Indiana Hoosiers, O’Korn took to social media to state, “Even I was 2-0 against IU.” O’Korn is admittedly a one-season wonder and has been considered a major flop for the Wolverines after transferring into the program.

If you’re wondering how bad things are in Ann Arbor right now…. even I was 2-0 against IU

    — John O’Korn (@jokorn94) November 10, 2024

The quarterback was indeed 2-0 against IU, but only recorded a combined 144-yard total against the Hoosiers in both outings without scoring. O’Korn was also one of the most sacked quarterbacks in a single season the Michigan Wolverines have had in quite some time. The quarterback was sacked 21 times through eight games in the 2017 season and did not even play the entirety of some games.

While some fans may have taken the comments of O’Korn as the quarterback bragging, it was actually a call for action. O’Korn went on to state that the program is “failing” many of the talented players who are currently part of the team. The quarterback highlighted coach Sherrone Moore in particular as someone who needs to hold his staff accountable moving forward.

Currently, the Michigan Wolverines are 5-5 and hold a 3-4 record in the Big Ten Conference this season. The Wolverines are ninth-ranked in the conference and have looked like a disjointed team on the field in virtually every game. Even during the wins this season, the Wolverines still do not look like a complete team which has concerned many fans.

While some Wolverines fans were understanding of the point O’Korn was making, many others seemed to take issue with his statement.

Dude you sucked. Show us some clips from the Ohio State game that you couldn’t complete a pass in.

You, like 2024 Michigan, never beat a team that won 8 or more games

Beef between 2 of the worst QBs in existence was not on my bingo card💀

    — 〽️aizenBlue (@Maizeblue4life) November 10, 2024

Many other Michigan Wolverines fans took his comments as a joke and greeted the former quarterback with humor.

I honestly thought this tweet was funny but obviously some Michigan fans and players are taking it the wrong way 😂

    Pure gold John! 〽️💙

    — A〽️aizing History (@JoeReynoldsAH) November 10, 2024

That’s actually really funny. Most people getting angry don’t see the self deprecating humor. He’s acknowledging the less than ideal situation with the football team while also acknowledging that he wasn’t exactly incredible himself. A lighthearted jab.
