There was an intense reported feud at ESPN this past week between two of the biggest personalities in sports. It was reported that Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee got into a heated argument in which many explicit words were shared between the two. McAfee has been doing things his way and apparently that has rubbed people the wrong way.
Now Stephen A. Smith took to his podcast to clear the air on this reported feud and he shared that things between him and McAfee are fine and that two have a solid working relationship.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Clears The Air
On his latest episode of the “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Stephen A. addressed these reports about his dispute with McAfee saying that there is no beef between them.
“Number one, there is no dispute whatsoever,” Smith said, via Awful Announcing. “Pat McAfee is my teammate. Pat McAfee and I work together at ESPN. There is no banishment from First Take or any other show. He is more than welcome to come on First Take in the future and I’m gonna be more than welcome to come on his show.”
Stephen A. cleared the air about this rumored dispute and shared how they have a solid working relationship. McAfee should still be seen on the First Take show and Stephen A. claims that he will continue to be on the Pat McAfee show.
Stephen A. Smith Has No Issues With Pat McAfee
Both Smith and McAfee tried to defuse the situation with each of them giving comments about their love and respect for one another.
Smith continued, “I root for my teammates. I root for my colleagues. I don’t root against anybody. The people out there who do that are idiots. A rising tide raises all boats. If you succeed, I succeed.”
McAfee had comments as well saying:
“I have nothing but love for Stephen A.”
These comments do not mean that a dispute didn’t go down, but that both men want to move past anything that happened.
