The Baltimore Ravens (7-3) are set to play the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2) at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. The matchup will decide which team is in first place after Week 11.

The Ravens are traveling to Pittsburgh riding a two-game winning streak. The Ravens had a few extra days to prepare for the Week 11 matchup after a 35-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on “Thursday Night Football” on Nov. 7.

The Ravens will play the game without a veteran defender who has made four starts for the team this season. Per a statement by the Ravens on Saturday, safety Eddie Jackson will not travel or play with Baltimore on Sunday.

“Safety Eddie Jackson (non-injury related) will not travel to Pittsburgh with the team, and he has been ruled out for tomorrow’s game,” the Ravens posted on their X account.

It’s unclear why Jackson will not join the team in Pittsburgh. The announcement reads as an embarrassment for the 30-year-old player. The Ravens made Jackson a healthy scratch for their Week 9 contest against the Denver Broncos. (Baltimore would defeat Denver 41-10 at M&T Bank Stadium.)

Frankly, Jackson’s skills appear to be deteriorating quickly in the league.

Jackson earned All-Pro honors with the Chicago Bears during the 2019 season. He’s made two Pro Bowl appearances. The Ravens signed Jackson to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million before the 2024 season, per Over The Cap. Pro Football Focus has given the former Alabama standout a 50.6 overall grade for his play in 2024.

Jackson is credited with making 23 total tackles and four stops. He also has missed five tackles. Jackson has allowed opposing quarterbacks to have a 144.9 rating.
