Drake Maye, quarterback for the New England Patriots, is currently rocking it in his rookie season. Maye is being touted as one of the most promising quarterbacks in the NFL, after completing 1,898 yards in total this year, along with 12 touchdowns with nine interceptions so far.
Maye’s skills seem to have gotten the attention of Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. Allen has found himself becoming the backbone of the Bills after the quarterback joined back in 2018. Before the scheduled Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots game, Allen spoke to reporters about his opinions on Maye and his skill sets.
Allen complimented Maye’s plays and also went on to say that the 22-year-old quarterback “is going to be really good for a really long time”. Allen also mentioned that he has plenty of respect for Maye and his game. Of course, Maye was asked about what he thought about Allen’s comments on his performances.
“I think I’ve got a long way to go to get anywhere close to playing like that.” Maye said to reporters.

The New England Patriots last played the Arizona Cardinals and lost the game with a final score of 30-17. In that game, Drake Maye went for 202 yards, completing 19 passes out of 23 attempts. Maye managed to score once, while managing a lone interception. Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson led the team in rushing with 13 carries for 69 yards, while Kendrick Bourne defended with three receptions for 44 yards.
Drake Maye Continues To Back Jerod Mayo Despite Patriots Struggling This Season
It is no news that the New England Patriots are struggling terribly this season. As of now, the Patriots are fourth in the AFC East after winning three games and losing 11 so far in the season. With this in light, it is no wonder that head coach Jerod Mayo’s job with New England is under scrutiny.
Despite all this, quarterback Drake Maye seems to be still backing Mayo and trusting his process with the Patriots. In a recent conversation with reporters, Maye commented that Mayo is still ‘figuring it out’ with this season being his first year with the team. Maye also mentioned that he and the rest of the Patriots trust the coach’s plan and promises that the results are coming.
Fans and analysts will continue to hope that Maye’s words about Mayo are indeed true, and that the Patriots will soon do a turnaround in terms of their performance. As of now, Drake Maye seems to be the only good thing about the Patriots.
