Former NFL Head Coach Jon Gruden Makes Easy Choice Between Drake Maye And Caleb Williams

There have been multiple NFL coaches and iconic players who have been thrown tons of compliments at Drake Maye. The New England Patriots have clearly found their quarterback of the future, and players within the locker room, as well as icons from the team, have only had the best things to say about Maye. His talent jumps off the TV, and his leadership qualities are reportedly incredible.

Now, former head coach Jon Gruden has given his opinion of Maye, and he made his pick between Drake and the first overall pick of the draft Caleb Williams.

Maye has been incredible so far, with one of the worst offensive lines, run games, and receiving cores. He has been getting praise from many people within the organization and outside of it.

Maye is going to be great for a long time to come, and anyone who knows football can see the Patriots have struck gold in the draft. According to former coach Gryden, Maye is the best quarterback of the draft class, and he instantly chose Myae over Caleb when he was asked who he would draft.

Gruden started by just showering Maye with compliments:

“Drake Maye is going to be a superstar. Drake Maye is going to be everything you’re looking for. Five-star,” Gruden said.

After being pushed on the topic more, Gruden revealed that he would take May over Caleb easily and that he had Drake as the top quarterback of this past draft:

While Gruden is certainly not the most liked coach, he knows a lot about football. Now he joins Sean McVay as another genius football mind to praise Maye.

Maye is going to be a superstar according to just about everyone, and because of the Patriots’ poor record, Drake is not getting the attention he deserves from the media. The team will have to do a lot this offseason to get him some help, and they will have the ability to do so.

The Patriots will have the most cap space for this upcoming season of any NFL team, and they will need to bring in more O-line and receiver help.

While the conversation has all been about Williams or the other rookie quarterbacks, any one who knows anything about football is leaning toward Drake as the best of all of them. The 22-year-old has a very bright future, and the team needs to get with the program.
