“I Don’t Like Them” Donald Trump Trashes Politician While Meeting With World Champions

The Donald Trump administration has made it clear that he welcomes National and Professional Champions any time they win the big game.  He made that clear when he invited the Philadelphia Eagles for their championship this year, the Kansas City Chiefs for their 2020 Championship (Covid), and the Los Angeles Dodgers for their Championship in 2024.

However, while meeting with the Dodgers, Trump couldn’t help himself from taking a swipe at a few politicians.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers were honored for winning the 2024 World Series at the White House on Monday, President Donald Trump took a swing at his political opponents:

“We have a couple senators here. I just don’t particularly like them, so I won’t introduce them,” Trump quipped, prompting some tense chuckles from players and reporters, according to The Hill.

It wasn’t exactly clear who he was talking about, as neither California Sens. Alex Padilla (D) and Adam Schiff (D) were in attendance.

Praising the Dodgers as “very talented people,” Trump took a moment to single out Japanese slugger Shohei Ohtani for his looks.

“He looks like a movie star,” Trump said. “He’s got a good future, I’m telling you.”

Ohtani, who last season became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in the same year, is already considered one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Last season marked his Dodgers debut, after signing a record-breaking $700 million, 10-year contract in late 2023.

Also spotted at the ceremony was All-Star shortstop Mookie Betts.

Though Betts famously skipped the customary White House visit after his former team, the Boston Red Sox, won the 2018 World Series, this time he put team loyalty first.

“Being Black in America in a situation like this, it’s a tough spot to be in,” he said on Friday. “No matter what I choose, somebody is going to be pissed.”

“This is not about me. This is not about politics,” Betts added. “This is about the Dodgers and my loyalty to these boys in the clubhouse.”
