Donald Trump remains one of the most controversial public figures in the world. His second Presidential Term is just over four months in, and his supporters have been just as vocal as his critics. However, one of his supporters is choosing to walk away from the public eye.
Donald Trump Sees Sports Commentator “Disappear” After Showing Public Support

Almost everyone needs a break from social media frome time to time, but not everyone follows through. It will be interesting to see if Tim Brando keeps his word:
On Tuesday, FOX Sports’ longtime college football announcer said he’s taking a hiatus.
“Taking some time away from Social Media to concentrate on what’s important in life,” Brando wrote on X with a #FamilyFirst hashtag.
In a tale as old as time (or the invention of social media), Brando’s decision comes a day after arguing with a stranger about politics.
On Monday, a social media user called out Brando for his past support of Donald Trump. The person asked Brando what he thought about the President of the United States calling his political opponents “scum” in a Memorial Day rant that didn’t mention fallen soldiers.
“When you’ve been called a threat to Democracy and the next ‘Hitler!’….I’d say scum ain’t so bad,” Brando wrote. [Trump’s Vice President, JD Vance, called Trump “America’s Hitler” in 2016.] “Do some homework … Gain some knowledge on some things before calling me out next time.”
Brando also spent his last days on social media (for now) discussing reported plans to expand the College Football Playoff. He argued against awarding the Big Ten and SEC automatic bids.

“There’s no need for Guaranteed slots for any Conference,” Brando wrote. “The Big Ten and SEC already have all the metrics on their side.”
Brando has spent the last decade calling college football and basketball for FOX. He’s previously covered the NBA on TNT, SEC football and the NFL on CBS, and anchored ESPN’s SportsCenter.
The 69-year-old is married with two daughters (Tiffany and Tara) and four grandchildren. Brando has the summer before returning to duty for FOX.
Perhaps Brando will stay away from social media longer than Kirk Herbstreit. In January, the ESPN broadcaster claimed that he had deleted his social media and let others post on his behalf. Weeks after calling X “ridiculous,” he said it’s “great” and claimed he merely took a break.
