Donald Trump has never been afraid to share his opinion, especially on controversial matters. Now he’s taking those controversial opinion to the NFL, clearly taking a direct shot at one.
Donald Trump Directly Insults NFL Team In Speech, Fans Can’t Believe It

During their visit to the White House to celebrate their national title, the Florida Gators met President Donald Trump and listen to his speech. Tim Tebow, former Gator and NFL star, was also present for the honor along with the championship team:
Tebow is highly regarded as one of the, if not the best, college football players in the history of the NCAA. While present for the Gators’ celebration, President Trump shouted out Tebow, while also taking a random shot at the New York Jets.
“NFL legend and University of Florida, one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. I’ll tell you what, as a college player, maybe the best ever. And you did damn well in the pros, despite being on the Jets, you did damn well,” President Trump stated while chuckling.
It’s a bit odd for President Trump to take a shot at the Jets, considering he is a big New York guy, but it was also a hilarious moment. He was using the moment to praise Tebow, while also poking at a team has has historically struggled in the NFL.

Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2010 and would famously lead the team to the Divisional Round of the playoffs in 2011. Despite being taken down by the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots, Tebow became a household name.
Following 2011, Tebow was traded to the Jets when the Broncos signed free agent Peyton Manning. Though it was believed that Tebow would continue being a dominant passer, he was only used in special-teams wildcat situations.
Tebow’s career would only get more confusing following his time with the Jets. The quarterback joined the Patriots before transitioning into a broadcast role with the SEC.
Tebow would then sign a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015, before taking a six-year break. Following his time with the Eagles, he would be signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021 as a tight end.
Tebow was released before the 2021 season began, ending his playing career.
Playing for the Gators was a different story, as Tebow threw for 9,286 yards, 88 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He also won the Heisman Trophy in 2007 when he threw 3,286 yards, 32 touchdowns, six interceptions, 895 rushing yards, and 23 rushing touchdowns.
Tebow is widely regarded as one of the greatest college players ever, and though he did well with the Gators, his NFL career was far less successful.
