Donald Trump is seeing one NFL Starter facing some major backlash after going to bat for him.  The President of the United States has made it obvious that he follows the league closely over his first four months in office.

However, he still remains one of the more controversial public figures in the country.  That was on full display over the weekend.

In response to a recent comment regarding Donald Trump, Harrison Butker risks the wrath of Travis Kelce and many of his fans:

Butker, a devout Catholic and a known Trump supporter, clearly isn’t afraid to speak his mind and had the entire nation split over his controversial commencement speech last year.

According to a post from MLFootball, the kicker recently lauded the President for his authenticity, claiming his return to office was a huge positive.

“I think it’s great that Trump got elected, he represents speaking & being authentically yourself,” he was quoted as saying. “We should be virtuous human beings, men & women of God, striving to be Saints.”

While Butker’s comment had nothing to do with Kelce, the Chiefs tight end might not be so happy with him. At the very least, he might disagree with his teammate’s take, as he is believed to be furious with Trump over the latter’s recent post about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

“Has anyone noticed that, since I said “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” she’s no longer “HOT?” Trump asked in a Truth Social post earlier this month.

Kelce was said to be very angry over the post, although he doesn’t intend to confront Trump like he wants to Kanye West. According to reports, he will use the President’s words as motivation for next season.

If nothing else, he and Butker can agree that the Chiefs need to return to the top after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
