Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane wants to have a bigger impact on his team in the 2025 NFL season than he had on the Fins in 2024. With the Dolphins looking to turn things around after just an eight-win campaign, Achane believes he can elevate his play and do more for Miami in the upcoming season.
“This year probably — every year I want to get better — so as far as my numbers-wise, as far as in the rush game, I always want to try to hit 1,000 yards and then 500 yards (receiving),” Achane said this week, via team transcript. “I feel like I can do that as far as how much I’m being used and like the pass game that I was last year because I had a lot of receptions, and me watching film I felt like I left a lot of plays or I felt like I could have did more.
Will Dolphins’ Achane be a 1,000-yard rusher in 2025?

Given his mindset, Achane already seems like he is in the right direction for a big 2025 campaign. After rushing for 800 yards and eight touchdowns on 103 carries in just 11 games in his rookie season in 2023, the former Texas A&M Aggies star tailback had 907 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 203 carries.
His efficiency with the ball went down in 2024, as he rushed only 4.5 yards per attempt compared to 7.8 in his rookie campaign.
Still, Achane is only 23 years old, with a big ceiling and a seemingly good floor.
