DJ Reed, newest cornerback for the Detroit Lions, recently revealed his jersey number with his brand new team. Reed signed a three-year deal with the Lions last month after playing for the New York Jets from 2022 to 2024. The cornerback will be wearing jersey number 4 for the Detroit Lions in the upcoming NFL season.

DJ Reed has been playing in the NFL since 2018 after he was selected as the 142nd pick in the fifth round of the draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Since then, Reed has played for the Seattle Seahawks and the New York Jets before joining the Detroit Lions.

“Official 🙏🏻❤️.” DJ Reed captioned his Instagram post, while sharing a graphic with his new jersey number.

The Detroit Lions were pretty alright in the 2024 NFL season, and showed plenty of promise when they finished at the top of the NFC North with 15 wins and a pair of defeats. The Lions made it to the NFL Divisional Round, playing against the Washington Commanders. However, Detroit could not win that game and lost embarrassingly 45-31.

The Lions have been making a number of calculated moves in this NFL offseason, which will help them improve their record for the next season. By bringing in DJ Reed, the Detroit Lions will be bolstering their defense incredibly. In the 2024 NFL season, Reed managed a total of 52 solo tackles for the Detroit Lions.

DJ Reed Lauds Praises On Terrion Arnold In First Detroit Lions Media Meet

DJ Reed spoke to the media for the very first time after signing with the Detroit Lions on Thursday. Reed was asked a number of questions about his role and his goals for the team, and also what he thought about cornerback Terrion Arnold who joined the team as a rookie last year.

“As far as talent, as far as being sticky, there’s a reason why he was drafted in the first round. He’s going to be very good in my opinion. I think he’s a Pro Bowl, All-Pro type of guy.” DJ Reed said to the media about Terrion Arnold.

Cornerback Arnold was selected by the Detroit Lions as the 24th pick in the very first round of the 2024 NFL draft, and has shown plenty of promise with the team. In his very first season with the Detroit Lions, Terrion managed a total of 47 solo tackles. The Lions, having the likes of DJ Reed and Terrion Arnold in their squad, will have a very strong defense in the upcoming NFL season.
