This would be a huge landing spot for Dillon Gabriel as he would be replacing one of the Heisman Trophy finalists in senior Bo Nix. Gabriel began his college career with the UCF Knights in 2019 and played three seasons before transferring to the Oklahoma Sooners before the 2022 season.
In his five seasons as a starting quarterback, Dillon Gabriel is 1050-of-1664 (63.1 completion percentage) for 14,865 yards with 125 passing touchdowns to 26 interceptions.
How will the Oregon Ducks do next season with Dillon Gabriel?
The Oregon Ducks are going to be joining the Big Ten Conference next college football season so they reportedly have made a massive splash. Going from Bo Nix to Dillon Gabriel is not as significant of a drop-off that some other NCAA Transfer Portal quarterbacks could have been.
The Oregon Ducks are the second-ranked passing offense in the nation this season as they average 342.8 passing yards per game. Having an excellent coach like Dan Lanning, this should be a great fit for Dillon Gabriel with an outstanding program that has been tested against tough schedules.
What should we expect out of Dillon Gabriel next season?
Dillon Gabriel has proven to be one of the top quarterbacks in all of college football and joining a loaded team like the Oregon Ducks should only boost his game. He has only boosted his game this season with Oklahoma as he finished 266-of-384 (69.3 completion percentage) for 3,660 yards with 30 touchdowns to six interceptions.
With a career-high in passing yards, completion percentage and yards per attempt, he should be able to step up and continue playing well. This move would also keep Oregon in the conversation for the national championship as they end the regular season as the eighth-ranked team, according to the AP Poll.
Below is the Ducks’ 2024 schedule in their first season in the Big Ten Conference:
- Aug. 24: at Hawaii
- Aug. 31: vs Idaho
- Sept. 7: vs Texas Tech
- Sept. 14: vs Boise State
- Sept. 28: at UCLA
- Oct. 5: vs Michigan State
- Oct. 12: vs Ohio State
- Oct 19: at Purdue
- Oct. 26: vs Illinois
- Nov. 2: at Michigan
