On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins revealed another devasting update on star running back De’Vone Achane. Achane suffered a knee injury during the Dolphins win over the New York Giants in Week 5.
Achane has been one of the most exciting running backs in the league in the first half of the season. He has 460 yards rushing and five touchdowns through the first five weeks of the regular season. The rookie running back is averaging 12.1 yards per rush.
Reports came out Tuesday that Achane was considered week-to-week with the knee injury. There was hope that Achane would only be out for a few weeks.
It will be longer now.
The Miami Dolphins send running back to IR
According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Achane has been placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to the injury. Achane will be out until at least Week 11 when the Dolphins will play the Las Vegas Raiders.

Achane now will miss the Dolphins’ next four games – Carolina, at Philadelphia, New England, at Kansas City.

That’s frustrating news for Achane and the Dolphins. The Dolphins must rely on Raheem Mostert to lead the team without Achane.
The Dolphins have shown interest in trading or signing a few different veteran running backs, including Dalvin Cook and Jonathan Taylor. It’ll be interesting to see if the Dolphins try to make a move before the deadline with Achane going on injured reserve.
