Detroit Lions: Dan Campbell Reveals Shocking Mistake He Made Regarding Jared Goff After Seahawks Win

The Detroit Lions were almost unstoppable on offense on Monday night, cruising to a 42-29 win over the Seattle Seahawks at home.

While the Lions’ 389 total yards of offense didn’t compete with the 516 yards of offense the Seahawks posted, Detroit was efficient the entire night, scoring at least one touchdown in every quarter of the game, while reaching the end zone twice in multiple quarters.

Lions’ QB Jared Goff put together a historical performance that will go into the NFL record books.

Goff put together one of the most efficient games in NFL history during Detroit’s 42-29 victory over Seattle. He completed all 18 of his passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns in a dominant showing.

The Detroit Lions QB was perfect as a passer, completing each of his throws and logging a near-perfect rating while taking just a few sacks. He finished the night with a perfect completion percentage, going 18-of-18 for 292 yards and two touchdowns.

With Ben Johnson calling the plays for the Lions, Detroit continues to thrive offensively with Goff playing as well as any quarterback in the NFL.

Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell Revealed He Gave Game Ball To Another Player After Jared Goff’s Historic Night

When any NFL quarterback finishes a game with a perfect completion percentage, throws for two touchdowns and catches another as a receiver, it’s safe to say he’s getting a game ball after leading his team to a win over an undefeated opponent.

But Lions’ head coach Dan Campbell admitted he had no clue Goff was perfect on Monday night and actually gave the game ball to someone else in the locker room after the game.

“I just gave the game ball to someone else so I feel awful right now,” the Detroit Lions head coach said after the win.

Campbell then elaborated on Goff’s great night.

“I knew he played a heck of a game, but I did not realize he was perfect. I didn’t know he was literally 18 for 18, but i knew he played really really well, you could feel it. He really found his rhythm early. I thought he was seeing the field, he played with rhythm. He had to move in the pocket. I thought what really kickstarted him was when he had to move in the pocket, got kind of spun around, and hung with Jamo and hit him on the hook for the first down. That was big, man. He was rollin’ after that.”

The Detroit Lions are now sitting at (3-1) and look like they are one of the top teams in the NFC once again. They were knocked off by the 49ers in last year’s NFC Championship game, but if they keep rolling like they are now, the Lions should have a chance to make another deep postseason run at the end of the 2024 season.
