The hot topic Detroit Lions are going to be topic of conversation yet again. This time with the focus being on the wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

On March 19, 2024, it was announced by the NFL that Netflix would be releasing a documentary series called Receiver. This documentary is the sequel to the documentary Quarterback that featured quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons), and Marcus Mariota (Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders). Receiver follows some of the big name pass catchers from the 2023 season. The show is coming to the streaming platform Netflix later this year.

The Detroit Lions will have a representative in this show. Amon- Ra St. Brown. This will be another major instance of television coverage for the Lions. Another series being their Hard Knocks appearance in 2022.

St. Brown is one of many other receivers to be mentioned in the documentary series. The others included are: Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), George Kittle (TE, San Francisco 49ers), and Deebo Samuel (San Francisco 49ers).

    Who is Amon-Ra St. Brown?

Lions fans are definitely familiar with their star wide receiver. However, for those who may not follow the Lions, you may not be as familiar with St. Brown. After this series, you will remember the name Amon-Ra St. Brown.

One thing that is likely to be mentioned in Amon-Ra’s segment of the show is that he is known to be able to name all wide receivers drafted ahead of him in the 2021 NFL Draft. This is something that he has shared multiple times across multiple platforms. He keeps this list of receivers as a chip on his shoulder because he feels he was overlooked in his draft.

In the 2021 Draft, St. Brown was taken by the Lions in the 4th round, out of USC, and he was the 112th pick overall.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown celebrates a touchdown against Denver Broncos with wide receiver Kalif Raymond during the first half at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.

“I actually have my goals written down in my notebook. What I want to achieve every year. So, what I want to achieve this year going into the season, my personal goals, and then right below that I have the 16 receivers written down, where they went to college right below that. And so, I read that whole list three times before I go to practice every day. It’s something I’ll never forget. Something I make sure I’m always reminded of.”

    –  Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is a standout human being, and has some unique qualities when it comes to himself and even his family. Another few things that are likely to come up in the documentary are a few details about the St. Brown family.

St. Brown’s father is John Brown. John Brown was a bodybuilder in the 1980s and he is a two-time amateur Mr. Universe. Amon-Ra also has two brothers, Osiris St. Brown and Equanimeous St. Brown. Equanimeous also plays in the NFL. Coincidentally, he plays for the Detroit Lions NFC North division rival Chicago Bears.

Fans of the NFL should make sure to keep an eye out for the Receiver documentary series on Netflix. To recap, it is slated to come out later this year and is set to feature key pass catchers from the 2023 season from across the NFL. It is sure to be entertaining and may provide some additional information on key players, and has the potential to create new fans out of anyone who may be watching.

Whether you are looking to find a new favorite or you are looking to find someone to continue to root against, Receiver is sure to have anything an NFL would want in their entertainment.
