The Indianapolis Colts have been at a crossroads with their decision on selecting their quarterback. After a long time, they finally picked veteran NFL star Daniel Jones. Anthony Richardson, the team’s 2023 first-round draft pick, was not given the honor for the upcoming season.
It’s clear that Jones will be the starting and Deshaun Watson’s QB coach, Quincy Avery, had something to say about the team’s decision to start Jones. Avery’s message was cryptic, but he certainly knew what the Colts meant by selecting Jones.

“You guys keep trying to figure out why Anthony Richardson isn’t the starter by watching tape, but that’s not where the answer is. That’s not where you’ll find it,” Deshaun Watson’s coach said.

Avery’s did not mention that Jones must be the one to start. Some NFL fans were unhappy with the Colts’ decision to use Jones as their primary QB. Some fans called out the league for not picking Anthoy Richardson.
The Indianapolis Colts will open their week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins. Daniel Jones will make his first start of the 2024-25 regular season.
Deshaun Watson’s Role With The Cleveland Browns Remain Questionable For The Upcoming Season
Deshaun Watson’s role for the Cleveland Browns seems questionable at the moment. The Browns have enough quarterbacks on the team, and with Watson’s current situation, his chances of playing are pretty slim.
Watson suffered his second Achilles injury. The Browns will not want to play him, especially since they already have a roster filled with talented players. On the other hand, it’s not easy for Deshaun Watson to just come in and start playing. The quarterback must recover and not forget his underwhelming performance.

Cleveland will not part ways with Watson since he will be on the team’s cap through 2029. As for the team’s head coach, Kevin Stefanski, he hopes for things to play out slowly.
“I think we’ll let it play out as we get closer to the cut down. Those are all conversations that we are always having, but those are tough decisions. You know, I’d like to keep everybody, but not realistic,” Kevin Stefanski said.
With Shedeur Sanders, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabiel in the mix, it’s safe to say that fans could watch Deshun Watson in action only next season. For now, the Browns have their hands full, and Watson might not be their top priority.
