The Minnesota Vikings have made a splash move just days before the 2025 season kicks off. This year, they’ll be heading into the season with another first time starter (when it comes to Vikings). JJ McCarthy will replace Sam Darnold and try to lead this team to another spectacular season.
As it turns out, the team decided to add some serious veteran experience.

JJ McCarthy’s first season as the Vikings’ starting quarterback will begin with the signing of a quarterback who has won the Super Bowl:
The Vikings are making some significant roster moves heading into the 2025 NFL season, including trading away one of their team captains, and have been pretty busy this weekend, trading QB Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The team has also announced the signing of a former Eagle in Carson Wentz, who recently worked out with them.
“The Vikings have agreed to terms with Carson Wentz, the team announced Sunday, a day after the 32-year-old participated in a workout in Minnesota,” the Vikings disclosed via their official website on Sunday morning.

Wentz, a Super Bowl winner with the Eagles in 2017, joins from free agency after spending last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
