Browns GM Clears Deion Sanders’ Influence On Drafting Shedeur Sanders.
Deion Sanders and his son, Shedeur Sanders, have been in the headlines for the last couple of days. Shedeur’s entry into the NFL was not on a warm note since he was picked only in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns. Many anticipated Shedeur to make it through the first round. However, things fell apart for the QB.
On the other hand, many speculated that Shedeur’s father Deion had played a major role in his son’s journey to the NFL. The Colorado Buffaloes football coach was believed to have an influence on the Brown’s landing his son.
Recently, the Cleveland Browns General Manager opened up on the speculation, saying that Deion Sanders’ influence was not a significant factor for the franchise.
“I can’t say if that was a factor or not for other teams, but that was not a significant factor for us. Our personal relationships and interactions with Deion, that’s really been all positive from our perspective. And I mean that organizationally, not just me and Kevin. Really all of us who have interacted with Deion, and the people out in Colorado. We don’t typically penalize prospects for their parents,” Andrew Berry said.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers Safety Says Deion Sanders And His Family Won The NFL Draft
Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark thinks that the Sanders family won the NFL draft. Clarke has been a huge supporter of Shedeur Sanders throughout the NFL draft process. Clark was surprised to known that Shedeur Sanders landed the 144th overall pick.
“And this is just my opinion personally, the Sanders family won the weekend in what felt like a loss. I got to talk to Deion, I talked to Shilo, I haven’t talked to Shedeur, but Shedeur’s composure, poise, grace, elegance, gratitude, and behavior throughout this entire week said professional,” Clarke said.

Clarke thinks that there has been a lot of negativity around Deion Sanders and his son throughout the NFL draft process. The former safety is not wrong since there were several instances where the Sanders were pulled down.

Deion received huge criticism, and his son got the worst. Many still think that Shedeur never gave his best effort to show interest in being drafted. The Brows are happy with their decision, and Shedeur has a long way to go to prove his worth with the team.
