Things got heated on the San Francisco 49ers‘ sideline during Sunday’s 23-20 comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was seen on camera attempting to punch or choke long-snapper Taybor Pepper after kicker Jake Moody missed a 44-yard field goal.
Samuel, though, brushed off the sideline altercation as being caught up in the heat of the moment.
“Normally I don’t even get like that, but just frustrated in the heat of battle, a close game and I kind of got out of character a little bit,” Samuel told reporters. “But I’ll talk to Moody and we’ll get past it.”

Sunday’s incident could have been even more disastrous if the 49ers had been upset by the Buccaneers, who were without their top two wide receivers; Future Hall of Famer Mike Evans and perennial Pro Bowler Chris Godwin.
However, Moody split the uprights on a 44-yard game-winner, the first walk-off kick of his career to seal San Francisco’s win.
“[I] really, really wanted a chance to redeem myself and felt really confident, really good going that direction,” Moody told reporters afterwards. “[I] saw what happened with the previous one and was able to make an adjustment and put it through.”
