David Montgomery, running back for the Detroit Lions, is expected to be back in play for the divisional round in the third week of January, as per recent reports from head coach, Dan Campbell. Montgomery was left with an injury in a game between the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills last December and has not played a game since then.
Since then, the Detroit Lions finished the season at the top of the NFC North after winning 15 games and losing two. In their last game of the regular season, the Lions played against the Minnesota Vikings and won the game with a final score of 31-9.
In the most recent NFL season, Montgomery has contributed a total of 135 carries for the Detroit Lions for 775 yards, scoring 12 touchdowns before his injury. As per Tim Twentyman, a Detroit Lions insider, Coach Campbell is positive that David Montgomery will be ready to play after the first week of playoffs.
On the other hand, David Montgomery has always been waiting to get back on the field after being injured in the game against the Buffalo Bills. Montgomery has since then been undergoing extensive rehab for his MCL injury with the help of numerous physicians and specialists. In fact, Montgomery has reportedly turned down surgery and opted for rehab so that he can be back on the field in no time.
