The New York Giants’ offense should offer little resemblance in Week 1 of the 2024 season to the team that walked off the field to close out the 2023 campaign.

After all, All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley is a Philadelphia Eagle, tight end Darren Waller is retired, and there could even be some shuffling along the offensive line.
In quarterback Daniel Jones‘ supporting cast, perhaps the biggest improvement the Giants can expect is the impact made by first-round pick and former LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, viewed by many as the best receiver in this year’s class not named Marvin Harrison Jr.
Malik Nabers Makes Strong first New York Giants Impression

The Giants chose Nabers, after being unable to come away with a franchise quarterback at No. 6 overall or by trading up, but, the rookie’s quarterback couldn’t be more impressed by what he’s seen through this spring’s OTA and minicamp practices.
“I mean, he can do everything,” Jones told reporters of Nabers’ impact. “There is not much that he can’t do really from a route running standpoint. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands and strong, fast, explosive, catches the ball well. Yeah, he does a lot well.”
At six feet and 200 pounds, Nabers caught 89 of No. 2 overall pick Jaylen Daniels’ passes last season for 1,569 yards with 14 touchdowns in Baton Rouge last fall.
Perhaps, though, what gives Nabers the chance to have the biggest impact on the Giants’ offense — and Jones’ trajectory is the fact that Nabers caught 19 deep passes and forced 30 missed tackles, according to Pro Football Focus, introducing a big-play element to the vertical passing game that New York had been sorely lacking.
“I think he can be a tremendous weapon for us,” Jones said of Nabers. “He’s had a good spring. He’s looked good and made a lot of plays. You know, it takes time and work and we’ll put that in.”
