Dan Orlovsky, ESPN NFL analyst recently called out Buffalo Bills fans who want head coach Sean McDermott to be fired after the team was defeated by the Chiefs at the AFC Championship game. In his appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, Dan Orlovsky discussed this and also pinpointed the defense struggles that the Bills team needs to work on for their upcoming season.
In the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills lost the game with a final score of 32-29. In that game, Buffalo’s quarterback Josh Allen went for 237 yards, completing 22 passes out of 34 attempts, scoring twice. Meanwhile, James Cook took charge of the team on the ground with 13 carries for 85 yards, with a pair of TDs, while Mack Hollins defended with three receptions for 73 yards, scoring once.
“I’ll tell you, changing the head coach is, I think, preposterous. This is a defense that and they know this, they gotta add a difference maker or two in their back end, their back seven. Outside of Terron, Rasul Douglas is a pretty good player, but they don’t have a difference maker in the back end. Kansas City’s got two of them, Justin Reid and Trent McDuffie, outside of two or three other really good players. Obviously Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton, Wiggins looks good. I think Buffalo has to get a difference maker or two on their back end that’s really going to help them. I think they need to add a perimeter piece.” Dan Orlovsky said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

Dan Orlovsky’s support for Sean McDermott seems legit since the head coach has been in charge of the team since 2017, with a 7-7 postseason record. The Bills were the first team to give McDermott the role of head coach. Before that, the coach was defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2016.
Dan Orlovsky Defends Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen
Dan Orlovsky not only defended head coach Sean McDermott, but also came out in support of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen after the team lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Many NFL fans have felt that Allen is ‘cursed’ in games against the Chiefs. However, Dan Orlovsky went on to remark that the player’s stats say otherwise.
In the 2024 NFL season, Allen managed to cover 3,731 yards, scoring 28 touchdowns and managing six interceptions in that game. In the AFC Championship game against the Bills, the quarterback scored two touchdowns for 237 yards.
