The Dallas Cowboys have an important contract negotiation to work out with QB Dak Prescott this offseason. There was a lot of talk about a possible extension coming out of this. However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has provided further clarity on this subject. Read below to find out more.
No Deal Is Coming From Dallas Cowboys

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, there does not seem to be an immediate deal coming. Rapoport commented that the Cowboys and Jones have a “mutual understanding” of the contract situation. However, Jones gave no indication that they will reach an agreement at this time:

Dak Prescott’s Contract Situation

So, what is the contract situation for Dak Prescott? Well, he has one year remaining on his contract. He is slated to be paid $29 million in base salary alone.
However, the problem appears to be what the Cowboys have to pay him beyond 2024. Previous reports indicate that Dallas may have to give Prescott around $60 million per year to lock him up long term. This report may hint that the Cowboys want more time to think about if Prescott is worth that kind of money.
