The Dallas Cowboys‘ top wide receiver on the roster is CeeDee Lamb. There is no question that he is one of the top five receivers in the NFL. This season, Lamb has caught 85 passes for 973 yards and five touchdowns, along with averaging 11.4 yards per reception. He has been targeted 131 times.
CeeDee Lamb has also rushed for 70 yards on 14 carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Lamb has been dealing with Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush this season at the quarterback position.
Profootballnetwork.com Has the Dallas Cowboys Finding CeeDee Lamb Partner In 2025 NFL Draft By Selecting Arizona Wildcats Wide Receiver Tetairoa McMillan
Dallas currently has a 5-8 record this season. If the season ended today, they would have the 13th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, Jason Katz of profootballnetwork.com created a mock trade in the 2025 NFL Draft with the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints. He has Dallas jumping up to the ninth pick and also giving up the 44th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
With that selection, Katz has Dallas selecting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan from the Arizona Wildcats. Jason Katz said about this move:
“The first big trade of this 2025 NFL Mock Draft involves the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry Jones has been known to make splash moves in the draft and has done so with some success. Here, the team trades up four spots to grab Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan.
McMillan is a big-bodied receiver with a knack for making contested catches. His strong hands and body control make him a reliable target in tight windows, and his ability to win in the red zone would elevate the Cowboys’ offense.
Dak Prescott was put on IR after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 9. It was a significant loss for this offense, but the Cowboys’ had already already been struggling with him. Through nine weeks with Prescott, Dallas ranked 27th in pass success rate and 31st in red-zone touchdown rate, metrics that trended in the wrong direction with Cooper Rush at the helm.
CeeDee Lamb is a unique talent, but the Cowboys need a WR2 alongside him. McMillan can immediately be that player. His numbers this season help prove that.”
It would be no secret to see the Dallas Cowboys draft a wide receiver in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. This season with the Arizona Wildcats, Tetairoa McMillan has caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards receiving, and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 15.7 yards per catch. He will be one of the top wide receivers taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Could Also Take Ashton Jeanty
There is a chance that the Dallas Cowboys could also trade up for Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty in the 2025 NFL Draft. Dallas needs a number-one running back. Jeanty would provide a different dimension to this offense.
The Cowboys would also have to trade up with the New Orleans Saints or a different team to draft Jeanty. It would be a surprise if he was still available with the 13th selection. There would be a chance that the Arizona Wildcats wide receiver would still be available at 13 if Dallas decided not to trade up.
