The Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown was having a solid 2024 campaign after missing his rookie season with a torn ACL in his left knee. Overshown recorded 90 tackles, eight TFLs, five sacks, one interception, one pick-six, four pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 13 games and 12 starts. He also posted 20 pressures and 38 stops and allowed a 101.6 passer rating, per PFF.
Unfortunately, he sustained another significant injury
Dallas Cowboys’ LB exited Week 14

DeMarvion Overshown exited during the fourth quarter in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals after his right leg was pinned under a pile. Tests determined that Overshown had suffered a season-ending torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee. Since this is the second ACL injury in the past two seasons and due to the injury occurring later in the year, he could miss most, if not all, of the 2025 season.

Dallas Cowboys’ rising star eyes return date for 2025

During a Thursday interview with Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, DeMarvion Overshown shared his ideal return date for the 2025 season. Overshown said his goal is to make his regular-season debut in Week 13 for their Thanksgiving matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. He acknowledges that he hasn’t been able to stay healthy in his first two seasons, but he believes his play on the field speaks for itself.
“It’s definitely realistic,” he said via Watkins. “I’m pretty sure that game is Week 13, oh come on now. It’s hard to speak on. I’m thinking doing it the smart way, maybe start [training camp] on PUP, maybe not, if I’m feeling great. I’m going to let Britt, the magic man, do the work. I’m just going to come up here grind like I’m playing tomorrow. So best believe, I’m working as if I’m suiting up tomorrow.
“Every opportunity [you] got to play on the field, I showed people what I can do, if that’s still a question, to some people, then I just say turn on the tape. Of course I wanna play a full healthy year. I wanna be healthy that’s what’s best for my team and I know is best for my career.”
Who replaces him for the time being?

The expectation is for their third-round pick from 2024, Marist Liufau, to take over as the starting linebacker. Liufau replaced him for the final four games. He recorded 50 tackles, four TFLs, 1.5 sacks, three pass deflections, and two forced fumbles in nine starts, along with 12 pressures and 19 stops and a 95.3 passer rating, per PFF.
