The Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback room has been decimated by injuries throughout the offseason. Trevon Diggs and Josh Butler opened training camp on the PUP list, while Shavon Revel Jr. is on the NFI list. The Cowboys cannot afford to have any more injuries to the position, especially with them going up against Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, Terry McLaurin, Malik Nabers, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, to name a few, in 2025.
Dallas Cowboys’ second-year CB went down with an injury on Sunday

Caelen Carson exited Sunday’s practice with an apparent knee injury, resulting in him missing Monday’s practice. The fifth-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft has received most of the first-team reps during training camp due to the injuries to the cornerback position. Carson underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.
Dallas Cowboys’ young cornerback set to miss the rest of training camp

According to Todd Archer of ESPN, Caelen Carson suffered a hyperextended knee injury on Saturday. As Archer points out, he is expected to miss the next four to six weeks, potentially sidelining him for the rest of training camp. It’s unclear if Carson will be ready for the start of the regular season.
Cowboys CB Caelen Carson suffered a hyperextended knee Sunday that will keep him out 4-6 weeks, according to sources. Thins out a position that’s been w/o Trevon Diggs, Shavon Revel, Josh Butler, who are on PUP/NFI, and DaRon Bland until Monday. Hence Christian Matthew addition.

The Dallas Cowboys added a former seventh-round pick

The Cowboys have signed former Arizona Cardinals’ seventh-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft, Christian Matthew, to a contract. After spending the first 1.5 seasons with the Cardinals and starting three of 18 games, he bounced around with the Chicago Bears in 2023, where he played two games, and the Baltimore Ravens in 2024. Unfortunately, Matthew did not play last season because of an undisclosed injury.
