By and large, Dak Prescott has been a solid quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, but one of the biggest knocks on him is his lack of success in the NFL playoffs. Nearly a full decade into his career in the pros, the former Mississippi State Bulldogs star signal-caller only has a pedestrian 2-5 record in the NFL postseason.
Somehow, Prescott’s mediocre playoff resume got raised during the 2025 edition of the Travelers Championship at Cromwell, Connecticut, when NFL insider Adam Schefter, who is also making his debut as a golf reporter, compared Tommy Fleetwood with Prescott.
“We’ve got Dak Prescott, Tommy Fleetwood,” Schefter said while speaking with analyst Robert Damron (h/t Newsweek). “Both men have played exceptionally well. Both men have tried to win the championship.”
Added Schefter: “We know Tommy Fleetwood has won overseas (in Europe), still waiting to win his first tournament, maybe it comes here. Dak Prescott, trying to win his first Super Bowl.”

Dak Prescott’s unimpressive playoff resume brought up during PGA Tour event

As Schefter was sharing his thoughts on the parallels of Fleetwood and Prescott, a graphic juxtaposing the two athletes was flashed on the screen, with the golfer’s winless record in the PGA Tour being compared to Prescott’s 2-5 playoff slate.

But unlike Prescott, Fleetwood has actual titles to his name. He’s just not won yet on the PGA Tour. For one, Fleetwood has seven European Tour victories. And he also seems to be on the verge of finally ending his cold PGA Tour spell, as he enters the final day of the Travelers Championship leading the field by three strokes through 54 holes.
