Dak Prescott Reveals 1 Important Thing He Wants For His ‘Sanity’

After playing in only eight games in the 2024 NFL season, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is getting ready for a strong rebound in 2025. His season was cut short by a hamstring injury that needed to be addressed by surgery, but the former Mississippi State Bulldogs signal-caller is already past that and is now hitting the gym to prepare his body for the upcoming campaign.

Prescott also had just participated in the just-concluded Dallas minicamp this week, as he also tries to start building chemistry again with his teammates, including a new weapon in George Pickens, who was acquired by the Cowboys in the offseason via a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Until the Cowboys see Prescott again in real, live NFL action, there will be questions about his readiness, but so far, it seems that he’s on the right track for an appearance under center by Week 1 of the 2025 season.

Dak Prescott sends clear message about desire to win a Super Bowl

It’s been nearly a decade since Prescott was taken in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Cowboys. But since then, he has only appeared in a total of seven playoff games.

Dallas has also never gone further than the divisional round in any of its three trips to the postseason in the Prescott era. While Prescott is still just 31 years old (about to turn 32 in July), there appears to be a hint of urgency when he recently spoke about his burning desire to win a Vince Lombardi Trophy.

“I want to win a championship,” Prescott said, per  Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The legacy, whatever comes after I finish playing, will take care of itself. I want to win a championship. Be damned if it’s just for my legacy or if it’s for this team. It’s for my personal being, for my sanity. The legacy will take care of itself.”

With a healthy Prescott again and an upgraded wide receiver room, the Cowboys can look forward to seriously competing for at least a division title in 2025.
