Jerod Mayo, former coach for the New England Patriots, recently got a jab from the team’s defensive end Keion White, who compared his coaching methods to those of the current coach, Mike Vrabel. Mayo coached the team for only one season after being the inside linebackers coach for a few years. The Patriots franchise was, of course, not anything new for Mayo, who played with the team for some seasons in his NFL career.

Mayo was let go after the Patriots’ terrible performance in the previous football season and was replaced by Mike Vrabel, who was a coaching and personnel consultant with the Cleveland Browns in the last NFL season. However, it seems like Mayo leaving the Patriots was the best thing that could happen to the team since several players have come forward to commend him on his coaching, including Keion White.

“Now, I feel like I have a coach. I like Mike. He leads with work. I can respect that. It’s similar to Bill (Belichick), just with a younger face. I think we all know how I feel about that; I liked him.” Keion White said about Jerod Mayo and Mike Vrabel in his latest conversation with press reporters.

Keion White on the difference between this year and last year on the Patriots:

“Now, I feel like I have a coach,” White said after Tuesday’s minicamp session.

As of now, Jerod Mayo is without a job in the National Football League and seems to be taking a rest period after being fired from the New England Patriots. Mayo seemed to have done better as a player rather than as a coach, with him having won the Super Bowl once during his time with the Patriots.

Jerod Mayo Was Unhappy With Patriots Firing Him

Jerod Mayo was reportedly not happy at all with the New England Patriots firing him as head coach after one season with the team. The football coach apparently felt that it was definitely unfair for him to be released after hardly a season, and also that the team should have given him another chance.

Mayo’s performance as head coach was not exactly bad, but it was definitely not what the Patriots needed as a team. With Mike Vrabel’s entry as head coach with the Patriots, the franchise seems to have a better shot at getting closer to the Super Bowl in the upcoming football season. Also, Mike Vrabel seems to have cast a charm on all the Patriots players, especially since many have been coming forward to appreciate him for his strategies.
