Dabo Swinney used to be the man of the college football world, and for a short period, Swinney faced Alabama head coach Nick Saban to see who was the best coach in the sport. The two would battle each other almost every season in the College Football Playoff from 2015-2018, and Clemson would win two titles vs the Crimson Tide in that time frame.
Clemson Hasn’t Been The Same The Last Three Seasons Under Dabo Swinney
Clemson has fallen hard in the last three seasons, failing to reach the college football playoff. There is some good news coming for the program since this season, the sport is moving away from the four-team playoff format to 12 teams, so there will be more chances for teams to get in like the Tigers, but the program has yet to do much this offseason to make them contenders for one of the 12 spots.
Dabo Swinney Doesn’t Take Anyone From The Transfer Portal
Clemson has failed to take one player from the transfer portal this offseason; the head coach had some very crazy thoughts about why he doesn’t want to take any players from the portal and stated, “I mean, it’s really pretty simple. Most of the guys in the portal aren’t good enough to play for us. That’s just the reality of it.”
Dabo Swinney is trying to cover himself up and state crazy reasons why he won’t go into the portal and take players. It has been something the two-time national champion-winning coach has failed to do year by year, so nothing is new this season, but one college football analyst thinks his time is coming to an end at Clemson.
Paul Finebaum Thinks Dabo Swinney Is Done At Clemson
Paul Finebaum Hosts the Paul Finebaum Show on the SEC Network and ESPN radio every weekday from 3:00 PM ET to 7:00 PM ET. Even though Clemson isn’t in the SEC, Finebaum still gave his thoughts on the coach from the ACC and stated, “People that graduated from Clemson, people that are Clemson fans, they don’t think Dabo Swinney is going to be there a long time. When I say long time, I mean 3 to 5 years. I think his time is nearly up.”

Clearly, something is up with Dabo Swinney in this new era of college football, and it shouldn’t be a shock that he leaves the sport in the next handful of years to even maybe do television like his former rival Nick Saban, who left Alabama this winter and now will be on ESPN’s College Game Day.

Finebum needs to keep his sec nose out of acc business! He has badmouthed Dabo since the day he was hired at Clemson. His criticism and sarcasm is getting old. Do your job and report sec news.
Finebaum is an SEC Homer that WISHES Dabo would leave.
Wishful thinking on Finebaums part. He hates Dabo for beating his SEC teams on a regular basis. His bias shows , big time.
Who in the heck cares what Finebaum says? He is just attempting to stir up controversy for more viewers to watch his show! He knows nothing about us Clemson fans, so he needs to just shut up and cover the SEC (where he belongs). I don’t pay this egomaniac any attention.
Paul Finebaum did not have a negative opinion of Dabo Swinney, until he beat Alabama the first time. It is evident that Dabo Swinney is a threat to his beloved, Alabama. He will say anything negative to publicly hurt Clemson’s recruiting. Anyone who has watched this with a discerning eye understands exactly what is going on here. He can’t stand the thought that Clemson might threaten Alabama’s football dominance.
